The children of Saltkråkan Island take a public ferry to visit a relative only to find that she has went to hospital.

Men Tjorven, Stina och hunden Båtsman ställer upp till hans hjälp, tror han innan den bittra sanningen gått upp för honom.

Stina har sin egen uppfattning om hur man skall komma till rätta med Skrållan. When they try to row back home they lose the oars and must take refuge on a desolate island. It is based on an Astrid Lindgrens book and it tells about an island called Saltkråkan, the people and expecially the kids who live there.

It's impossible not to smile with her innocent mischief.

Like most Swedish films I saw so far, this one is very nicely filmed, with lovely cinematography, good actors and a harmless plot, but still it lacks something.

Lovable filmie from the 60´s

I took this deligthful little movie from the library a few days ago.

I had not seen it in many years, but watching it made so many colorful childhood memories come up that I couldn´t stop smiling. Men sedan tar hon henne tillbaka och drar till skogen för att överlämna henne till trollen - där tycker Stina att hon hör hemma.

Plötsligt är Skrållan försvunnen, och då blir det fart på morfar Melker, på Tjorven och Pelle och på Båtsman.

This film truly is a children´s movie in its best! Even for those who have absolutely no childhood connection at all to this little film, it can bring bright childhood memories, as it deals with a type of childhood that doesn't exist anymore.

This story takes place in a small community, apparently an island, in a rural area next to the water. In her childish world, what she does is fun.

Redan här börjar förvecklingarna. She looks like an angel yet she does a lot of mischief. Skrållan is so utterly cute and adorable, truly a sweetie yet simultaneously a minor troublemaker. When they try to row back home they lose the oars and must take refuge on a desolate island. Det visar sig snabbt vara ett vilt barn, vilket inte minst morfar Melker får veta av, när han försöker ägna sig åt praktisk barnavård.

Först säljer hon henne till fiskaren Vesterman för 25 öre. Malin kommer med båten från stan, och så får även det sista äventyret sin upplösning i frid och fröjd.

Overall, this is a story for children but anyone who enjoys innocent and cute childlike tales can watch this, no matter the age.

The children are great in their actings, especially the little girl who plays Skrållan. She is practically a baby and naturally she doesn't have conscience of the things she does.
